A degree program for adults with no credits or who hold an associate's degree.
The BGS degree through Iowa Wesleyan College is focused on adult students over 24 who want a college degree but because of family, career, or civic responsibility, feel they do not have the time to spend four years attending school on a full-time basis. There are two ways for students to obtain their GBGS degrees.
Option #1 Enables the student to significantly shorten the time required for a degree by successfully completing five general College Level Examination Program (CLEP) tests and receiving the rough equivalent of two years of college credit. The student then completes 66 semester hours, with 30 in a major area of concentration (including 6 hours of Field Experience) and 30 in general education support. All courses must be Iowa Wesleyan credit courses and 33 hours must be upper-level courses.
Option #2 Allows the student with an associate's degree (minimum 2.00 gpa) to automatically qualify for the 66 semester hour BGS-Management degree program through Iowa Wesleyan. Any student wishing to complete the BGS-Management degree should obtain the specific course requirements from the Extended Learning Office.
