Tutoring

Tutoring

In addition to the Academic Resource Center staff, the ARC also provides peer-tutors to assist students with various academic courses that are offered each semester. Tutoring may be individual or small group sessions. There is no charge to IWC students who use tutors in the ARC. Students who need assistance in a course are encouraged to schedule an appointment with a tutor or ARC staff member by calling 385-6334. Students can also drop in to see a tutor at the posted times for the course in which they are seeking assistance.

The Peer Tutoring Program of the ARC has International Certification through the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) on all three levels: regular, advanced, and master. To become a tutor in the ARC, tutors must complete required training, have received a grade of “A” or “B” in the course for which they are tutoring, and the recommendation of the course professor.
