What is Oppression?
Oppression is the discrimination of certain target groups by limiting their rights, controlling their freedoms, and negatively affecting them in many different ways. There are many different types of oppression, such as, sexisim, racism, ageism, classism, heterosexism, and ableism. Drawing attention to conditions of oppression and empowering those who have been marginalized, or those who can not physically or emotionally speak up for themselves, is a duty that we must all concern outselves with.
