Applying for Financial Aid
Step 1. Apply for admission to Iowa Wesleyan College. You must be accepted in order to receive a financial aid award.
Step 2. File for a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon after January 1 as possible. If you are not planning to file a FAFSA, notify the Financial Aid Office. Not filing a FAFSA will make you ineligible for Federal and State aid and Stafford Loans.
FAFSA Title IV Federal School code: 001871
Step 3. Provide necessary documentation to the Financial Aid office if requested. Thirty to forty percent of students are randomly selected by the Federal Government for verification.
Step 4. A Financial Aid award letter will be sent. This is your official notification of the financial aid you will receive through the Financial Aid Office at Iowa Wesleyan College. These awards are provisional and may change. Awards that are declined will not be replaced by other institutional funds.
Step 5. Apply for other aid through your high school, church, civic organizations, clubs and other sources. If you are aware of any outside scholarship you will receive, you must notify the Financial Aid office. The Financial Aid Office is required by federal and state regulations to ensure that you do not receive funds over your eligibility.
