Education: : Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology with a minor in International Affairs from the University of Northern Iowa. Alan is from Danville, Iowa. He received his Associate of Arts from Southeastern Community College and then transferred to the University of Northern Iowa where he studied cultural anthropology and international politics. He enjoys listening to great music, reading intellectual books and articles, and drinking green tea.
What I love about my job: Talking to other academically minded individuals, traveling, and meeting new people!
Favorite thing about IWC: I enjoy the educational and entertaining events Iowa Wesleyan hosts, and its devotion to students' success by offering innovative programs to give graduates what they need to succeed.
What I do when I’m not at work: I listen to NPR, browse Reddit, read graphic novels and comics (mostly Batman), exercise, and socialize with friends and family.
Music: : I listen to any music with talented musicians such as Muse, Tool, Incubus, NIN, BTBAM, Adele, The Roots, and Queen.
TV: I enjoy good drama/action/comedy like Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, King of the Hill, The Office, and Regular Show.
Movies: I like a lot of drama/thrillers including Fight Club, No Country for Old Men, The Lord of the Rings series, Gran Torino, The Dark Knight, and The Shawshank Redemption.
Sports: I like watching the Olympics, when the best athletes on Earth are competing against each other. My favorite Olympic sports are swimming and snow boarding. USA! USA!
Students considering Iowa Wesleyan College should visit the Mt. Pleasant square only a few blocks from campus. There are many stores and restaurants there which will perk your interest!
