DES MOINES – Iowa Wesleyan College saw its men’s soccer season end in the quarterfinals of the Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament Saturday in a 4-0 loss to Grand View University.
The third-seeded Vikings outshot the sixth-seeded Tigers 25-6 as IWC saw its season end at 5-14 overall. Armin Mujdzic led Grand View with two goals scored on the game and the Vikings advanced to the MCC tournament semifinals to face second-seeded Clarke College next Sunday.
Scott Ballingall (Fr.-Perth, Scottland) led the Tigers with two shots on goal and Mark Daughters (So.-Keokuk, Iowa) had Wesleyan’s other shot on goal. Goalkeeper Troy Osborne (So.-Sydney, Australia) had nine saves for the game.
This was the final match for IWC seniors Michael Roberts (Sr.-St. John’s, Antigua), Alberto de Mesa (Sr.-Malaga, Spain), Jake Pilger (Sr.-Burlington, Iowa), Emil Yazdani (Sr.-Buenos Aires, Argentina), and Goer Niu (Sr.-Beijing, China).
