H1N1 vaccinations to be offered to students

Iowa Wesleyan College is offering free H1N1 vaccinations to students who qualify on Thursday, November 19. A vaccination clinic will be held from 8 - 11 a.m. in the Espy/McCurdy Conference Room of the Howe Student Activity Center.

Students who meet one or more of the following criteria are eligible for the free vaccination:

·         Persons aged 6 months – 24 years of age

·         Pregnant women

·         Persons who live with or provide care for infants under 6 months of age

·         Healthcare and emergency services personnel with direct patient contact

·         Persons aged 25-64 years who are at higher risk for the Novel H1N1 virus because of chronic health disorders or compromised immune systems

All students who qualify are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.  Those who have already been ill, unless tested for H1N1, can not be certain if they had this strain of influenza.

With most students planning to travel for the Thanksgiving Break, this is optimal time to be vaccinated.
