RHODES, IOWA – Iowa Wesleyan College’s Mark Cleary (So.-London, England) shot a score of 148 (75-73) finishing tied for 21st individually and helping the Tigers to a 4th place finish at the Grand View Viking Classic at the challenging Harvester Golf Club.
Grand View won its own tournament on Tuesday with a competitive score of a three-over 579 defeating Iowa Western Community College by 11 shots. Kirkwood Community College finished third with a score of 596, while the Tigers finished with a team score of 607.
After Cleary was Emery McGraw (Jr.-Loveland, Colo) who shot a 152 (78-74) finishing tied for 24th place. Next was Nick Juskewycz (Fairfield, Iowa) who carded a 153 (78-75) tying for 27th place. Adam Moyers (Sr.-Burlington, Iowa) scored a 154 (76-78) finishing tied for 30th.
Rounding out the Tigers team score was Zach Hale (Fr.-Indianola, Iowa) who shot a total of 171 (91-80) tying for 59th. Competing as an individual was Ryan Grun (Fr.-Kansas City, Mo) who shot a 163 (81-82) finishing tied for 52nd.
Winning the tournament individually was Jacob Aaholm of Iowa State University scoring a 138 (67-71) edging out Kevin Stanek of Iowa Western Community College who shot a 142 (71-71).
The Tigers will compete next the Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament in Ankeny, Iowa at Otter Creek Golf Course starting Friday April 16 and concluding Saturday April 17.
