Rainy weather in Iowa has caused several changes to the weekend playing schedules for the Iowa Wesleyan College baseball and softball teams.
Saturday’s Midwest Collegiate Conference baseball doubleheader between Ashford and Iowa Wesleyan in Mount Pleasant has been postponed due to rain and unplayable field conditions. The teams were to attempt to play the doubleheader on Sunday at noon in place of Sunday’s originally scheduled single nine-inning game, but that also has been postponed due to heavy rain Saturday night.
Also, this weekend's MCC Challenge softball event at the Greenvalley Sports Complex in Moline, Ill., has seen some changes due to weather. The tourney's start was pushed back to 1 p.m. on Saturday due to rain in the Quad Cities. Rains arrived late in the day Saturday, causing the suspension of IWC's game against St. Ambrose, and after reviewing the field Sunday morning the rest of the tourney has now been cancelled due to rain last night and unplayable field conditions.
