Southeast Iowa residents invited to Rock the Ruble and support IWC basketball!

Alumni, friends and basketball fans are encouraged to attend the Iowa Wesleyan College men’s and women’s basketball games this Saturday afternoon in the Olan Ruble arena on the Mount Pleasant campus.

The Tiger women’s basketball team, ranked 12th nationally in the NAIA, will take on St. Ambrose at 1 p.m.  The women’s team is 14-4 this season, and working for a repeat trip to the national tournament. The men’s team, 14-1 this season and ranked 13th nationally in the NAIA, will take on their counterparts from St. Ambrose following the women’s game, at approximately 3 p.m.

“We’re asking everyone in southeast Iowa to come out Saturday and help Rock the Ruble,” said Iowa Wesleyan College Athletic Director Mike Hampton. “We’ve got two of the top college basketball teams in the country right here in Mt Pleasant and we’d love to fill the stands to support them.”

“We expect St Ambrose will bring a good crowd of fans from the Quad Cities; let’s show them how southeast Iowa supports the Tigers.”

The $5 admission is good for both games, making it “the best entertainment value in southeast Iowa,” Hampton noted. Drawings for prizes will be held at halftime of each game; one entry with each paid admission. Those attending on passes can purchase drawing entries. The Iowa Wesleyan College Book Store, located in the same building, will be open from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.
