Education: BA in Communication Studies from Central College
Kylene is from Waverly, Iowa, and graduated from Central College where she studied communication studies and minored in business management. She currently lives in Mount Pleasant and enjoys anything outdoors, spending time with her nephew, and traveling. She travels in central/southern Illinois and works with first year students last names starting with E to J. Before working here, Kylene was a college student who enjoyed not having any “real world” bills to pay!
What I love about my job: I love that I am able to meet with and get to know new people on a daily basis. It is exciting to have the opportunity to work closely with high school students and their families during such an important time in their lives. The college process is very exciting and I love being a part of all that!
Favorite thing about IWC: The people are amazing. It’s a great community to be a part of! GO TIGERS!
What I do when I’m not at work: I am usually spending time with friends and family, playing tennis, volleyball or softball, scrapbooking, visiting new places, watching a good movie, shopping or enjoying tasty ice cream!
Music: I’m a big country music fan. Rascal Flatts are my favorite!
TV: I love Desperate Housewives, The Voice, King of Queens, American Idol, Say Yes to the Dress and The Bachelor/Bachelorette.
Movies: I love movies! How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, The Proposal, Elf and 27 Dresses are a few of my favorites.
Sports: I love sports! The Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and Dallas Cowboys are teams I follow the most.
Students considering Iowa Wesleyan College should visit East Lake Park. They have a beautiful lake perfect for fishing, a bike trail, tennis courts, driving range, sand volleyball courts and a Frisbee golf course. It’s a great place for a picnic!
