Recycle, reuse, and reap the rewards! Area residents are invited to use their creative skills to recyle and repurpose items into a piece of art during the Iowa Wesleyan College GreenFest celebration, Thursday, April 19.
The recycled art competition has two categories, one for youth up to 18 years of age, and one for adults. Cash prizes of $75, $50 and $25 will be awarded in each category. Art must be made out of recycled and/or repurposed materials.
The art competition is one activity in the event marking Earth Week at Iowa Wesleyan.
All entries should include a name, address, phone number and age displayed on the entry. Entries should be dropped off in front of the Iowa Wesleyan College Chapel between 8:45 and 9:15 a.m. on Thursday, April 19. In case of inclement weather, the drop-off and display area will be in the International Room of the Chadwick Library on the Iowa Wesleyan College campus.
Those wishing to drop entries off in advance should contact the Office of Service-Learning and Civic Engagement at 319-385-6362 to make arrangements.
“IWC is dedicated to promoting responsible stewardship of our environment. We believe that a public event during Earth Week will be a fantastic way to demonstrate this belief and educate attendees about important environment and conservation topics.”
