
Iowa Wesleyan College works with every student and family to make a quality education affordable. In addition to generous campus scholarships and grants, there are a variety of federal and state grants available to new students entering in the fall of 2013.
ACADEMIC MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS
New first-year and transfer students may be eligible for an academic merit scholarship based upon academic performance. Scholarship amounts range from $3,000 to $15,000 per year and are renewable as long as you remain in good academic standing. COMPETITION SCHOLARSHIPS
Students accepted to Iowa Wesleyan College may have the opportunity to earn additional scholarships by participating in one of our winter Scholarship Days. Scholarship Days will be held on February 2, February 23 and March 16. Please complete the online scholarship application to be considered for a competition scholarship. The completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) may adjust the total scholarship award. State and Federal Grants may decrease the actual scholarship amount depending on the results of the FAFSA.
WESLEYAN PRESIDENTIAL SCHOLARSHIP
The Wesleyan Presidential Scholarship is awarded to four first-year students who have achieved outstanding academic success. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or eligible non-citizens. The Wesleyan Presidential Scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated leadership in school, church or community and outstanding academic achievement. Awards are renewable for a maximum of three additional years by maintaining a 3.25 CGPA and full-time status. Wesleyan Presidential Scholarships cannot be combined with any other Iowa Wesleyan College institutional awards. Candidates must participate in an on-campus interview during one of the December or February Scholarship Day competitions.
Minimum Qualifications: 3.75 CGPA, 26 ACT, rank in the top 10% of your class (must meet two of three)

IOWA WESLEYAN PIONEER SCHOLARSHIP
The Iowa Wesleyan Pioneer Scholarship recognizes first-year students with high scholastic achievement in high school and demonstrated leadership in their school or community. Awards are renewable for a maximum of three additional years by maintaining a 2.5 CGPA or better and full-time status. The Iowa Wesleyan Pioneer Scholarship can be combined with an academic merit scholarship.
Minimum Qualifications: 3.25 CGPA, 24 ACT or top 25% of your class (must meet two of three)
Award Amount: $4,000 per year/$16,000 over four years
WESLEYAN HONOR SCHOLARSHIP
The Wesleyan Honor Scholarship rewards first-year students who have proven solid academic achievement in high school. Awards are renewable by maintaining a 2.0 CGPA or better and full-time status. The Wesleyan Honor Scholarship can be combined with an academic merit scholarship.
Minimum Qualifications: 3.00 CGPA, 22 ACT or top 50% of your class (must meet two of three)
Award Amount: $3,000 per year/$12,000 over four years
DEAN’S SCHOLARSHIP
The Dean’s Scholarship rewards first-year students who demonstrate promising academic excellence. Awards are renew¬able by maintaining a 2.0 CGPA or better and full-time status. The Dean’s Scholarship can be combined with an academic merit scholarship.
Minimum Qualifications: 2.50 CGPA, 19 ACT or top 50% of your class (must meet two of three)
Award Amount: $2,000 per year/$8,000 over four years
DEANS’S TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIP
The Dean’s Transfer Scholarship rewards transfer students who demonstrate collegiate academic excellence. Awards are renewable by maintaining a 2.0 CGPA or better and full-time status. The Dean’s Scholarship can be combined with an academic merit scholarship.
Minimum Qualifications: Core academic cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above.
Award Amount: $2,000 per year
ART & MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS
The Art and Music Scholarships recognize and reward students who demonstrate talent and wish to participate in art and music at the collegiate level. Auditions and portfolio reviews will take place during Scholarship Days. Students who receive an academic scholarship may not always qualify for these awards. In addition to the Scholarship Day application, please review and complete the music application scholarship materials.
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must agree to participate in at least one performance group or enroll in at least six hours of fine arts discipline during the first two college semesters.

Additional Campus Scholarships & Grants
MAJOR SPECIFIC GRANTS
Students fully accepted for admission and majoring plan to major in art, business, English, education, music, nursing or psychology may be eligible for this grant.
Award Amount: $1,000 per year
SIBLING GRANT
Available to each sibling concurrently enrolled at Iowa Wesleyan College.
Award Amount: $500 per year of concurrent enrollment
LEGACY AWARD
Available to the child or grandchild of an Iowa Wesleyan alumnus.
Award Amount: $1,000 per year
OUT-OF-STATE GRANT
Available to students from Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin who file the FAFSA by July 1, 2013 and meet the expected family contribution requirement.
Award Amount: $3,500
PHI THETA KAPPA SCHOLARSHIP
Available to a current Phi Theta Kappa member transferring to Iowa Wesleyan College. Please complete the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship Application and submit to the Iowa Wesleyan College Office of Admissions.
IOWA WESLEYAN COLLEGE OPPORTUNITY GRANT
Students who file the FAFSA and demonstrate need will be considered for this need-based grant.

ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIPS
Named scholarships, funded by alumni and friends of the College, that student can be considered for after they file the FAFSA. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for additional information.

United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF) provides scholarship aid for United Methodist students attending United Methodist-related schools, colleges, universities, and seminaries in the United States.
