Baccalaureate
Baccalaureate at Iowa Wesleyan College is a service of worship honoring our graduates and asking God's blessing on their future endeavors
The baccalaureate service originated at the University of Oxford (England) in 1432. British practice was continued in colonial America and baccalaureate services have since become an integral part of commencement exercises, marking the completion of an educational program.
All graduating students, dressed in cap and gown, are expected to attend the Baccalaureate ceremony. It will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Chapel Auditorium. Graduates will line-up at 10:00 and process into the Auditorium. All family members and friends are invited to attend.
