Exemption From Campus Residency Form
Iowa Wesleyan College is a residential college. Our mission values the experience of living on campus as part of a learning community. For this reason, all full-time students (except married students and single students who live with their parents and commute) must live in College certified housing. Students enrolled in internships and student teachers may also reside in the residence halls. The following circumstances allow students to request permission to live off campus:
· Students 22 years of age or older by the first day of classes of each Fall or Spring term
· Students who have senior classification
· Students living with their dependent children
· Students who are U.S. veterans
Unique circumstances requiring students to live on or off-campus must be submitted to the Director of Residence Life.
The Residence Requirement supports the mission of the College and helps students establish a firm social and academic network at IWC. Our residences are more than places to sleep or hang your clothes. They are places to learn about yourself and others, to meet a variety of people from all over the country and world, and to be exposed to different cultures, ideas, and points of view. Student life in all residences is guided by the honor principle, which promotes self-governance and encourages students to be respectful of one another and of all community members.
Students aged 23 and older are typically not permitted to reside on campus. Students 23 and older who would like to live on campus must first contact Student Life.
Students living in IWC housing are required to subscribe to one of our Sodexo Campus Services meal plans. Each meal includes $100 Munch Money which can be spent at the Snack Bar or in the dining hall.
