An important goal of the residence hall staff is to provide students with individual attention and focused contact. We are proud of our efforts in this area and feel that they make a definite difference in the lives of our students. It is a clear priority for every staff member to get to know their residents, so don't be surprised when they set up a meeting to talk with you about life at IWC and your personal goals.
“My CA is really cool. She sits down with me and talks about classes and life at college. She makes you feel really comfortable and is really listening to me.”
"Our Community Director is pretty amazing. I figured he would be like a principal, but he isn’t. He does a good job of meeting everyone and finding out about them as individuals He isn’t really like a boss or an authority figure. He just wants to be helpful.”
“I was sorta freaking out over whether I would be able to handle the pressures of being on my own and I mentioned this to my CA. He told me about how he went through the same kind of thing when he was a freshman. He also gave me some tips for keeping my schedule organized. I’m relieved to know there’s always someone around who will hear me out and point me in the right direction.”
So, if you are having trouble adjusting to college life...go talk with a staff member.
