TRANSCRIPTS and DIPLOMAS
The college transcript is the official record of a student’s academic work and progress at an institution. It lists the terms of attendance, courses, attempted hours, earned hours, grades and grade point averages. It is also the official record of degrees and honors awarded. It is signed by the college registrar and carries the seal of the college. The diploma is a commemorative document which recognizes of the awarding of the degree and honors. It is signed by the college President, Academic Dean and Secretary of the Board of Trustees. When educational institutions or employers verify a student’s record or degree, the transcript is needed as documentation.
TRANSCRIPTS
Two types of transcripts are available: official and unofficial.
Unofficial transcripts can be used if you want information regarding your academic records or if you have been told that an unofficial transcript is acceptable for initial school or employment contact.
Unofficial transcripts are stamped “STUDENT COPY FOR INTERNAL & PERSONAL PURPOSES”. If you stop by the office we will print one for you immediately free of charge.
Official transcripts are needed for graduate school applications or transferring to another college/university. Employers often request that prospective employees provide official transcripts.
Official transcripts are sealed in an envelope and mailed to the designated receiver, or you may pick them up and mail them yourself if you are in the vicinity of our office.
Iowa Wesleyan College is NOT able to FAX or EMAIL official transcripts. However, we can fax unofficial transcripts for a minimal charge.
