Alumni Awards

Title of the Award:  Distinguished Young Alumni Award

Eligibility:  Any Iowa Wesleyan College Alumni that is 40 years of age or younger

Purpose:  This award is designed to recognize Iowa Wesleyan's younger alumni that have established themselves in their chosen professions

Criteria:  This award will be presented to alumni that have demonstrated at least one of the following:  leadership capabilities, an understanding of the importance of services to others, potential for long-term leadership, and a commitment to Iowa Wesleyan College and its overall mission. Such alumni might be community volunteers, work in a non-profit organization in their free time, served our country, or be an entrepreneur

Title of the Award: Alumni Service Awards

Alumni Service Awards are presented to alumni who have served faithfully in helping develop a greater Iowa Wesleyan College. This award is based strictly on service to and for Iowa Wesleyan College.

Title of the Award: Distinguished Alumni  Awards (formerly Merit Awards)

Distinguished Alumni Awards are presented to alumni who have attained outstanding success and achievement in their chosen profession and/or given extraordinary service to their community, church, country or educational endeavor.

Frequency:  The Alumni Association may recognize up to 2 individuals per award. These awards will be given at commencement each year. Previous nominations may be considered for a period of 5 years, along with current nominations. After the 5 year period, individuals must be re-nominated for any award consideration.

Nominations:  Nominations will be taken from alumni (no self-nominations), friends, faculty, staff and community. Nominations will be due by December 31, for awards given the following May.
