DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL AID
Iowa Wesleyan College, a 4-year church-related institution located in Southeastern Iowa, is accepting applications for the Director of Financial Aid. The Director is responsible for the administration, management and awarding of all funding from federal, state, institutional and private sources. This specialist will comply with federal aid institutional policies and applicable NAIA regulations. He/she is also responsible for the control of Iowa Wesleyan aid budgets. Other duties include policy development, supervision and training of staff and overseeing the daily operation of the financial aid office.

A minimum of five years of recent experience with progressive supervising responsibility in college financial aid operations is required. The applicant should possess strong computer, organizational and interpersonal skills. The successful applicant should hold a bachelor's degree at a minimum.

SCHMIDT CHAIR IN BUSINESS
Iowa Wesleyan College invites applications for the newly established Schmidt Chair in Business. This is a tenure track position with responsibilities beginning in August 2010. Ph.D. required, with preferred concentration in Economics and/or Finance. The primary focus will be teaching in diverse subjects including corporate finance, investments and portfolio management, financial markets, real estate, banking and market regulation.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate relevant experience in the investment theory of value-based investing models of Graham and Dodd, and Warren Buffet. The college is seeking an individual with a strong commitment to teaching, assessing outcomes, mentoring and advising students, and participating in the college community. Iowa Wesleyan College is a four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Position Title: Assistant Professor, Early Childhood Education

Position Description: This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track teaching position in the areas of early childhood and, if needed, elementary education. Standard teaching load is 12 credits per semester. The position requires teaching traditional and nontraditional students during day and evening. Duties include: teaching content, theory and application to potential educators; serving as point person for early childhood practicum; supervising student teachers; advising students; serving on various administrative, faculty and standing committees as assigned; performing other work-related duties as assigned; and assisting in the development and submission of program reviews.

Additional Responsibilities: Teach elementary education core courses, if needed.
Summer teaching is negotiable but desired.
Actively participate in professional organizations.
Participate in community service as related to their area of expertise.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Early Childhood Education required
  • Experience in the field of Early Childhood Education, required
  • Experience teaching college-level Early Childhood Education courses, recommended
  • Excellent teaching, communications and interpersonal skills, and knowledge of assessment techniques
  • Must be able to teach Early Childhood Education and related courses
  • Licensed in Early Childhood Education
  • Be effective in addressing needs of a diverse student body
  • Reflective, interactive pedagogical teaching technique; program development skills; and experience with technological innovation in teaching and learning
