A letter written by Abraham Lincoln will be part of a special display at the Chadwick Library at Iowa Wesleyan College during the month of February. The letter is on loan from the Mount Pleasant Public Library.
Lincoln wrote the letter to thank Mrs. Harriet Snedeker of Jerseyville, Illinois, for a box of peaches that she sent to him.
The Lincoln exhibit is part of the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Lincoln’s birth.
The Chadwick Library is located on the north side of the Iowa Wesleyan campus, on Broad Street. Library hours are Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m. – 12:00 a.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Saturday 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.
