MOUNT PLEASANT – The Iowa Wesleyan College men’s and women’s track and field teams did not compete in Saturday’s Midwest Collegiate Conference Indoor Championships in Sterling, Ill., as bad weather kept the Tigers on the sidelines.
Several inches of snow fell early Saturday morning, and blowing and drifting snow made for hazardous road conditions. The decision was made in the name of safety to not to make the more than three-hour drive to Sterling for the meet.
IWC’s indoor season is now complete. The Tigers will begin their outdoor track season March 28 at the Augustana College Viking Olympics in Rock Island, Ill.
