Education: BA in History Education from Dordt College, Sioux Center, IA
Julie is from Sully, Iowa, and graduated from Dordt College where she studied history education and minored in English. She currently lives in Mount Pleasant and enjoys reading, crafting of all kinds and traveling. She travels to the local community colleges in Iowa and works with all transfer students and evening Education students. Before working here, Julie worked as a high school History teacher in Illinois and Missouri. Julie also serves as the Government Relations Chair for the Iowa Association for College Admission Counseling.
What I love about my job: I meet many different people working in Admissions. Knowing that I provided a student with the resources to complete their degree and go on to a rewarding career makes each day very worthwhile. Every day is different and I love the opportunities that working in Admissions brings.
Favorite thing about IWC: The students and the people I work with.
What I do when I’m not at work: I will be at home! I enjoy baking, crafting, reading and exercising.
Music: Christian music.
TV: I love Psych and evening comedies- can’t stand reality TV.
Movies: National Treasure.
Sports: Nothing. I don’t have a favorite team for any sport- not my thing.
Students considering Iowa Wesleyan College should visit Anna’s Pantry. They have a great bulk foods, baking supplies and items that you would never find in Wal-Mart.
