Artwork by Iowa Wesleyan College art professor Ann Klingensmith is currently on display at the Iowa Wesleyan College Art Gallery. The show opened March 3 and will remain on display through March 20.
An artist’s reception and gallery talk will be held on Sunday, March 15 from 1-3 p.m.
Klingensmith has been on the Iowa Wesleyan College faculty since 1987. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Graceland College and both her Master of Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees from the University of Iowa.
Klingensmith explained that her work deals with the figure, dogs, masks and crows. Her primary work deals with the figure, with or without masks. Klingensmith said her work has “evolved out of study and love for the figure form, interest in the mask, and a desire to explore the notion of memory.”
The Iowa Wesleyan College Art Gallery is located on the main floor of the P.E.O. Building on North Main Street in Mt. Pleasant. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
