DUBUQUE – Paced by a pair of top 10 finishes, the Iowa Wesleyan College men’s golf team opened its season with a second-place finish at the Loras Invitational at The Meadows Golf Course in Dubuque.
IWC finished with a team score of 314 strokes, placing second behind St. Ambrose University, which won the tourney with a score of 294. Waldorf College (315) finished a stroke behind the Tigers to take third place.
Adam Lindsay (Sr.-Aberdeenshire, Scotland) started his senior season off with a round of two-over par 74 to tie for third place in the individual standings. He was joined in the top 10 by sophomore Emery McGraw (Loveland, Colo.), who tied for ninth with a round of 77.
Adam Moyers (Jr.-Burlington, Iowa) was next for IWC, shooting an 80 to tie for 18th. Mark Cleary (Fr.-London, England) and Jeff Zieber (So.-Cameron, Mo.) tied for 29th with matching scores of 83. Adam Saych (So.-London, England) and Nick Juskewycz (Fr.-Fairfield, Iowa) both competed as individuals at the tourney and finished with scores of 84 and 91, respectively.
The Tigers return to action early next week for the St. Ambrose Invitational at the Emeis Golf Course in Davenport on Sunday and Monday.
