DES MOINES – The Midwest Collegiate Conference announced Tuesday that Jessica Ryan (So.-Burlington, Iowa) of Iowa Wesleyan College has been named its Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Ryan scored a hat trick with three goals in the Tigers’ lone match last week, a 6-2 win at Culver-Stockton (Mo.) College that was the team’s first win of the season. Her three goals tied a school record for goals in a match, a record held by seven other IWC players over the program’s 13-year history.
For the season Ryan is leading the Tigers with four goals and a total of nine points. She has scored goals on four of her 11 shots and in her first two seasons at IWC so far has 12 goals and four assists for 28 points.
IWC faces Central College in a non-conference matchup this afternoon. The Tigers’ next match will be Saturday when the team hosts Coe College at East Lake Park in Mount Pleasant.
