IWC football staff to host clinics at Keokuk YMCA

MOUNT PLEASANT – The Iowa Wesleyan College football program will be hosting a pair of clinics Saturday, Aug. 30 at the Hoerner YMCA in Keokuk.

The clinics will be conducted by IWC Head Football Coach Jason Smelser, the IWC coaching staff and several Tiger players. A clinic for 3rd-4th graders will be from 8-9:30 am, with a clinic for 5th-6th graders following from 10-11:30 am. The clinics will take place at the Hoerner YMCA soccer field.

The clinics will emphasize teaching basic football fundamentals and skills such as catching, throwing, punting, kicking, running offensive pass routes and covering pass routes on defense. Both clinics will also include a significant portion of time devoted to letting attendees put their skills into practice through playing.

Cost for attending the camp is $10 for Hoerner YMCA members or $15 for non-members. Campers must bring workout clothes, cleats, and a water bottle.
