MOUNT PLEASANT – The Iowa Wesleyan College football team will host its annual Purple & White spring game this Sunday, April 19th at 2 p.m. at its practice field across from the Mapleleaf Community Athletics Complex.
The scrimmage is free and open to the public, and will cap nearly a month’s worth of spring practices for the team. The Tigers started spring practice on March 23rd and have 56 players participating in team drills this spring.
A brief awards ceremony will follow the game, with awards being given to players in recognition of their work during the offseason.
The Tigers open their 2009 season with a home game Aug. 29th against Trinity International (Ill.) University at 6 p.m. at Evans Field at the Mapleleaf Complex.
