DUBUQUE – Iowa Wesleyan College concluded two days at the Clarke College Tournament with a win over Alverno (Wis.) College Saturday.
The Tigers defeated Alverno 25-14, 25-8, 25-16, salvaging the final match of the two-day tourney after losing their prior three matches. IWC dropped matches against Briar Cliff University, Cornerstone (Mich.) University and Coe College and leaves the tourney with a 7-7 overall record.
Katie Jammer (So.-Green Bay, Wis.) had nine kills against Alverno and led the Tigers with 28 kills on the weekend, while Megan McVey (Fr.-Fort Worth, Texas) added 25 kills. Corrie Wagner (Sr.-Iowa City, Iowa) led the team with 50 kills. Kendra Zimmerman (So.-Green Bay, Wis.) had 91 assists, and B.J. Wagy (So.-Cedar Rapids, Iowa) paced the team with eight blocks.
IWC gets back into Midwest Collegiate Conference play on Wednesday with a match in Clinton against Ashford University at 7 p.m.
