IWC still fourth after three rounds of MCC Tournament

        OSKALOOSA – Iowa Wesleyan College posted its best team round yet in the Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament, but the Tigers still sit fourth after three rounds of the conference tourney.

        IWC finished with a score of 295 on Saturday as the MCC Tournament resumed at the Oskaloosa Golf Course. The Tigers were fourth on the day and are fourth in the overall standings of the tourney, which resumed on Saturday in Oskaloosa after its first two rounds were played during the fall season in Iowa City.

        Grand View University passed St. Ambrose University for the top spot in the standings, shooting a 289 on Saturday to take a three-stroke lead over the Fighting Bees, whose score of 300 was fifth-best on the day. Grand View’s total score of 877 through three rounds leads St. Ambrose (880) with Viterbo (Wis.) University third (896) and Iowa Wesleyan fourth at 902.

        Adam Lindsay (Sr.-Aberdeenshire, Scotland) finished with a score of one-under par 71 on Saturday, tied for the third-best mark of the day. He is now fifth in the individual standings with a three round score of 217, five strokes off from leader Adam White of St. Ambrose.

        Emery McGraw (So.-Loveland, Colo.) posted the next-best round of the day for the Tigers, as he fired 37 on both the front and back nine for a 74 that was his best round of the spring. Adam Moyers (Jr.-Burlington, Iowa) and Mark Cleary (Fr.-London, England) finished with matching rounds of 75, while Jeff Zieber (So.-Cameron, Mo.) rounded out the results for Wesleyan by carding a 78.

        The tourney continues and Wesleyan will wrap up its season on Sunday with the final round of the conference tournament. Tournament hosts William Penn University will be providing a live Web broadcast from the final rounds beginning at 1 p.m. at the school’s Web site at www.statemenathletics.com.
