MOUNT PLEASANT – Kim Jennings has been hired as the new head coach of the Iowa Wesleyan College women’s golf program, IWC Athletic Director Mike Hampton announced today.
Jennings takes over the women’s program from Ted Peetz, who coached both the Tiger men’s and women’s golf teams for the past six seasons. Peetz is leaving Wesleyan in order to work on a doctorate degree at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
“We are pleased to have Kim join the Iowa Wesleyan College family,” Hampton said. “We feel with her college golfing experience that this will be an asset in recruiting females to continue their golfing experience after high school graduation.”
A native of Frankfort, Ill., Jennings is a 2006 graduate of Illinois College in Jacksonville, Ill., where she was a four-year all-conference player for the Lady Blues. She was a team captain all four years and led three teams that won Midwest Conference championships. In high school she also was a four-time all-conference performer at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox, Ill., playing on teams that won conference championships all four years and qualifying for the Illinois state meet as a sophomore.
Kim Jennings is employed as a teacher in the Highland Community School District in Riverside. She is married to Peter Jennings, an assistant coach with the Iowa Wesleyan football program. The couple resides in Mount Pleasant.
The search continues in the attempt to find a replacement for Peetz as a head coach for the Tiger men’s golf program. IWC will begin its men’s and women’s golf seasons in September.
