MOUNT PLEASANT –Iowa Wesleyan College will debut Web streaming audio of Tiger athletics events on Thursday with its first-ever online broadcast of a game when the IWC football team takes on the University of Tennessee-Martin on the road in Martin, Tenn., the College announced on Wednesday.
The Tigers’ game will kick off at 6 p.m. Thursday night. The audio broadcast will be produced by the IWC Radio Club, and IWC Sports Information Director Adam Glatczak will handle play-by-play for the broadcast from Martin, Tenn., where the Tiger football team will be taking on the NCAA Division I-AA Skyhawks.
Listeners will be able to access the broadcast from the IWC campus radio station portion of the school’s Web site. A ‘Listen Live’ link is on the IWC Media Club page, which is at http://www.iwc.edu/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&layout=division-landing&id=887 or can be found by searching for ‘IWC Media Club’ on the Wesleyan site.
The football game at UT-Martin will be the first of a number of events to be broadcast this school year. The plan is for the streaming of selected Tiger athletics events on a limited basis in the first year of the program, particularly road games for football and men’s and women’s basketball.
The schedule of events broadcast will expand in the future. In addition to being able to allow IWC fans to follow play-by-play of many Tigers sports teams, the hope also is to eventually use the broadcasts as a way for students to learn about the broadcasting field.
