PEOSTA – Iowa Wesleyan’s Mark Cleary (So.-London, England) finished tied for 19th and shot a total score of 155 (78-77) at the Clarke College Fall Invite held Sunday and Monday at Thunder Hills Country Club in Peosta.
The Tigers started off tied for fifth place after the first day, shooting a team score 311. IWC then fell back to 10th place after the second and final round shooting a team score 330 for a total two day score of 641.
Behind Cleary were Ryan Grun (Fr.-Kansas City, Mo.) and Emery McGraw (Jr.-Loveland, Colo.) who both shot identical scores on both days of 78-81 for total scores of 159, which was good for a tie at 32nd. Adam Moyers (Sr.-Burlington, Iowa) finished tied for 47th shooting a 168 (77-91). Nick Juskewycz (So.-Fairfield, Iowa) struggled with back problems, shot an 86 and had to withdraw from the second day of play.
St. Ambrose University won the tournament by a margin of 45 shots with a team score of 569, dominating the field of competition. St. Ambrose was led by first-place finisher Dusty Drenth, who shot a 134 (69-65), and second-place finisher Jake Schertz, who shot a 142 (68-74).
Iowa Wesleyan College will continue its season hosting its own tournament this coming Sunday and Monday at the IWC Fun City Classic at Spirit Hollow Golf Course in Burlington.
