Tigers Improve on Second Day, Finish Sixth

ONALASKA, WIS. – Senior Adam Moyers (Burlington, Iowa) led the Iowa Wesleyan College men’s golf team at Viterbo University Ronnie Eastman Invitational held  at the lengthy La Crosse Country Club by finishing tied for 14th place, shooting scores of 79 and 75 for a total score of 154.

The Tigers finished in sixth place out of 14 teams shooting a total team score of 638 after a 12-shot improvement the second day. IWC finished just one shot behind fifth place team Mount Mercy College (637) and three shots behind fourth place team Carroll University, Wis. (635). The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire won the invitational with team scores of 286 and 305 for a total team score of 591.

Right behind Moyers was Emery McGraw (Jr.-Loveland, Colo.) who finished tied for 17th shooting scores of 78 and 77 for a total score of 155. Next was Nick Juskewycz (So.-Fairfield, Iowa) who shot 163 (83-80) tying for 33rd. Ryan Grun (Fr.-Kansas City, Mo) tied for 47th shooting a 167 (86-81). Jeff Zieber (Jr.-Cameron, Mo.) tied for 56th shooting a 171 (85-86). The Tigers were without their number one player Mark Cleary (So-London England), who will return for IWC’s next tournament.

Derrick Meier of Viterbo won the tournament individually shooting ever par scores both days of 72-72 for a total score of 144.

The Tigers will conclude its fall season at the William Penn Statesmen Fall Classic next Monday and Tuesday at Oskaloosa Golf Course.
