PEOSTA –The Iowa Wesleyan College women’s golf team finished sixth of six teams at the Clarke Fall Invitational at Thunder Hills Country Club.
Clarke College shot a team score of 362, edging out St. Ambrose by two shots to win the tournament. Leading Clarke was Megan Chitty, who won the tournament individually by carding a 76. Runner up to Chitty was Jordan Davis from Ashford University with an 82.
IWC was led by senior Melissa Peterson (Sr.-Wilton, Iowa), who led the Tigers with a score of 107, finishing in 20th place. Behind Peterson was Gabby Combs (Jr.-Macomb, Ill.) and Stevie Schrier (So.-Columbus Junction, Iowa) who shot identical scores of 108 (54-54) in tying for 21st. Rounding out the Tigers score was Jordan Ruschill (Jr.-Mount Pleasant, Iowa) shooting a 145 finishing 30th.
The Tigers will round out their fall schedule on October 11-12 at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo for the Midwest Collegiate Conference Fall Preview Invitational.
