Co-Head Coaches Josh Nichols & Kurt Moon - 1st Year
Iowa Wesleyan College has announced the naming of Josh Nichols and Kurt Moon as co-head coaches for the Tiger men’s golf program for the 2009-10 season.Nichols and Moon will share coaching duties and will take over the men’s program from Ted Peetz, who coached both the Tiger men’s and women’s golf teams for the past six seasons. Peetz left Wesleyan in order to work on a doctorate degree at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.
Nichols has been an assistant for the Tiger golf teams for the past two seasons, helping take care of administrative duties for the men’s and women’s programs. He also is the top assistant with the men’s basketball program and originally came to IWC in that capacity in January 2007.
Nichols will handle most of the administrative chores including scheduling and recruiting for the program, while Moon will be the lead for the technical aspects of coaching, handling practices and tournaments. Moon is a successful Mount Pleasant area businessman and owns the Brown’s Shoe-Fit store in Mount Pleasant. He is a member of the Mount Pleasant Country Club and has been a member of the club’s board of directors. He also has worked at IWC basketball games for the past 20 years at the scorer’s table.
