Educational Background (degree earned, certifications or other professional designations):
I hold a B.Sc. in mass communication from the University of Lagos Nigeria, and an M.A. in journalism from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois.I am also a graduate of Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, having obtained a Ph.D. in communication from that institution in 1992.

Courses Taught:
I teach com160: Introduction to Mass Communication, com140:  Human Communication, and com331-3: Inter Cultural Communication.  I also team teach the following:  com246:  Broadcast Work shop, and gl400:  Global Issues.  

Areas of Professional interest or research:
I consider myself a generalist. However, I place emphasis on international communication. I favor qualitative techniques for my research agenda. 

Research and Publications:
I am a contributing editor of Virtue International Magazine, a journal which profiles the lives and interests of professional Nigerians at home and in the diaspora.  My principal academic publication remains my unpublished doctoral dissertation:   Multi Cultural Programming as a Strategy in Public Diplomacy:  Leo Sarkisian and Music Time in Africa”, (Athens, Ohio 1992).  I have presented several conference papers, some as joint presentations with Dr. Olabisi T. Gwamna.

Professional Memberships:
I am a member of the National Communication Association, the Iowa Communication Association, and the African Studies Association.

Campus Involvement (committees chaired, organizations advised, etc.):
I am coordinator of the global issues program, an adjunct with the extended learning program, and advisor to the IWC Radio Club.   I also supervise students interested in a radio broadcast practicum, sit on RSI presentations and currently conduct a directed study in global issues.
